Finding & Treating TB Early: Benefits For Loved Ones
Using this picture to talk with someone about the benefits of early treatment:
“Early” is also the key word when thinking about protecting your loved ones and our community from TB.
First, if you do have TB, it’s less likely you’re contagious and that TB can spread to others.
Second, accepting treatment early means a shorter, easier treatment which means less time at the clinic or feeling sick so more time doing activities you enjoy with family and friends.
It is also less disruptive to your work (or school) schedule. If it’s Latent TB, you won’t need to come to the clinic every day to take your antibiotics and you won’t need to take time off work (or school) to do an isolation.
Finally, finding and treating TB early are important in helping make our whole village TB-free!
